US-based registered investment adviser (RIA) and wealth management firm HB Wealth has appointed Gina Martin Adams as chief market strategist as part of a series of investment leadership changes.
Adams previously worked as the chief equity strategist and head of equity strategy and fund research at Bloomberg Intelligence.
As chief market strategist, she will work with HB Wealth’s investment team to deliver market perspectives and support the company’s investment strategies.
Adams will collaborate with recently appointed chief investment officer Joel Houck and deputy chief information officer (CIO) Ford Donohue.
Together, the leadership team will provide investment guidance and analysis to HB Wealth’s advisers, clients, and investment committee.
They will oversee asset allocation and portfolio construction for the firm, which manages $29bn in assets as a registered investment adviser.
Adams said: “Throughout my career, I’ve focused on research and insights that inform investment decisions. As I considered my next chapter, I wanted to bring that work closer to where it can make the greatest impact: with clients.
“HB Wealth’s collaborative culture and client-first values immediately resonated with me. I’m excited to join the firm and to partner with Joel and Ford as they take on their new leadership roles to deliver insights that support advisors and the clients they serve.”
Adams brings over 25 years of experience in market analysis, thematic research, and strategy development at international financial institutions.
With a top-down vision, she would leverage fundamental, technical, and quantitative perspectives to advise investment decisions.
Also, she is expected to contribute to in-house research, support the development of new investment products, and enhance client experience.
Her responsibilities also include working with HB Wealth’s investment committee to inform portfolio decisions across private and public markets.
Houck joined HB Wealth earlier this year, as part of a merger with WMS Partners.
Founded in 1989, HB Wealth is headquartered in Atlanta. It employs over 300 people and operates 12 offices across six states.
The firm provides fiduciary, fee-only wealth advisory and investment management services to individuals, families, and institutions.
HB Wealth CEO Thomas Carroll said: “The combination of these 3 leaders marks an exciting step forward for HB Wealth. Joel and Ford have done an exceptional job guiding our investment team in recent months, and these new roles formally recognise the leadership they’ve already demonstrated.
