Lunar, the digital Nordic challenger bank, has entered into a broad strategic partnership with delivery service Wolt across Sweden, Denmark, and Norway.
The collaboration makes Lunar the first Nordic bank to formally partner with Wolt. The move represents a significant expansion of Lunar’s value proposition as it seeks to build a subscription offering focused on “everyday usefulness” for both individuals and businesses.
Integrating lifestyle perks into core banking
Through the collaboration, Wolt+ will become a permanent feature of Lunar’s highest-tier subscription plans.
- Personal banking customers on the Unlimited plan will receive Wolt+, which includes unlimited delivery at 0 kr and exclusive offers.
- Business customers on the Limitless plan will also receive Wolt+ with zero-fee deliveries.
- Customers on the lower-tier Light, Standard, and Plus plans are not excluded; they will be able to redeem between three and nine months of Wolt+ at no cost starting from 11 February.
The partnership rolls out simultaneously in Denmark, Norway, and Sweden, featuring local adaptations for each market.
Making everyday life simpler
Both companies frame the partnership around a shared ambition to simplify everyday life through easy-to-use digital solutions.
Mette Gade, chief product officer of Lunar, explained the rationale behind integrating food and grocery delivery into a banking app: “Our partnership with Wolt is a natural fit that creates real value for both our private and business customers. With Wolt+ included, we give customers unlimited delivery at zero cost, and a little more time back in everyday life. It can be as simple as skipping the trip to the supermarket rush and having groceries delivered instead. It’s the small things that make a big difference day to day, and they reflect the kind of banking experience we’re building—a bank that works for you and makes your everyday life easier, not the other way around.”
Johan Grönvall, CEO of Wolt Sweden, added: “Collaborations like this create tangible value in a service many people already use. Zero fee deliveries may sound like a small thing, but it can mean fewer errands and more time when life is busy—whether it’s breakfast, dinner, or essentials you need quickly.”
Extending benefits to B2B partners
Beyond consumer perks, the collaboration also targets the B2B ecosystem. The partnership includes special Lunar packages tailored specifically for Wolt’s restaurant, retail, and courier partners. The initiative aims to provide local businesses and self-employed partners on the Wolt platform with access to solutions that simplify their operations, payments, and administration.
Lunar currently serves more than one million individuals and businesses across the Nordics , having secured its banking license in 2019. Helsinki-based Wolt, which joined forces with DoorDash in 2022, operates a massive local commerce platform connecting consumers, merchants, and couriers
