Merchant Rentals Limited, a subsidiary of the PayPoint Group, has entered into a strategic partnership with European Information Technology (EIT) to broaden its portfolio of card payment hardware for merchants.
The agreement aims to provide businesses with greater flexibility by combining Merchant Rentals’ financing solutions with EIT’s extensive range of hardware options.
Expanding the hardware ecosystem

Under the new deal, Merchant Rentals will expand its offering to include a wider selection of vendor-agnostic terminals. Through EIT, clients will gain access to devices from leading global brands including Castles, PAX, and Verifone.
EIT acts as a provider of payment, logistics, and IT services across the UK, offering flexible acquiring options that allow merchants to choose the technology best suited to their specific operational needs.
Mark Latham, managing director of Handepay & Merchant Rentals, commented on the strategic value of the collaboration: “This partnership with EIT marks an exciting step forward in delivering greater choice and flexibility for merchants. By combining EIT’s technical expertise with our proven financing solutions, we’re making it easier for businesses to adopt the latest payment technology and grow with confidence.”
Removing barriers to adoption

Merchant Rentals, which has over 20 years of experience in the sector, focuses on providing flexible rental and financing options for point-of-sale (POS) systems. The partnership is designed to remove financial barriers to technology adoption, allowing introducers and end-users to upgrade their payment infrastructure more affordably.
Nigel Tanner, CEO of EIT, added: “Partnering with Merchant Rentals allows us to offer our clients a complete solution – combining our technical expertise with Merchant Rentals’ flexible finance options. This is a key step in helping merchants access the latest payment technology with confidence and flexibility.”
The agreement was officially signed in December and aligns with Merchant Rentals’ broader growth strategy to support introducers with innovative solutions in a competitive market.
