PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) UK has named Marcus Bokkerink as an independent non‑executive and audit non‑executive, with the aim of strengthening governance and oversight.
In his new capacity, Bokkerink will sit on the firm’s Public Interest Body (PIB), joining PIB chair Philip Rycroft alongside existing members Suzanne Baxter and Rob Perrins.
He will also become a member of PwC UK’s Audit Oversight Body (AOB), led by chair Caroline Gardner.
Bokkerink has spent much of his career at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where he was a senior partner and managing director.
During that time, he headed BCG’s consumer and strategy practices in the UK and Europe and took charge of several global client relationships.
He later served as chair of the Competition and Markets Authority.
Alongside his new responsibilities at PwC UK, Bokkerink holds several non‑executive and advisory positions.
He sits on the board of Pinsent Masons International; is a member of the advisory group of the European Consumer Organisation; and serves as a non‑executive director at Provenance.
PwC UK senior partner Marco Amitrano said: “We are pleased to welcome Marcus as an Independent Non‑Executive.
“He is joining a group who bring extensive and varied experience to our governance.
“His international and regulatory insight will reinforce our focus on quality and strengthen the trust placed in us by our clients, regulators and the public.”
In the financial year ending 30 June 2025, PwC UK reported profit of £1.37bn ($1.87bn), a 20% jump from the previous year. However, PwC’s consulting and risk advisory services in the UK recorded a contraction of around 3% due to “tougher market conditions”.
“PwC UK strengthens governance with Marcus Bokkerink appointment” was originally created and published by International Accounting Bulletin, a GlobalData owned brand.
